The Piaggio Liberty 150 is a fantastic scooter for commuting and daily urban scooter use. And if you want, you can even cross a river in Mexico on it – but maybe keep that to a minimum. This video walks through the functions and features of the Piaggio Liberty 150.
It’s cold and stupid out there. Whether or not you choose to ride in it this Winter is up to you but here’s some recommendations to help you pass the time either way.
âWinter is comingâ and you know what that means! Our favorite event is back for the FOURTH year in a row; the fourth annual Winter Riders Challenge!
WHAT IS IT?
The rider with the most miles ridden between December 21st, 2021 and March 19th, 2022 will receive a special prize.
This year we will have two categories: scooters 50cc and below, and scooters above 50cc. First place in each category wins!
HOW DO I GET SIGNED UP SO I CAN BEAT EVERYONE?
Send us a picture of your odometer on Tuesday, December 21st, on Facebook, Instagram, or email us at info@vespaportland.com. You can start the challenge after December 21st if you choose, but youâll be starting at a disadvantage.
HOW DO I TRACK MY PROGRESS?
As often as youâd like, check in with us to have your total miles updated. You can either stop by Vespa Portland or send us an updated photo on Facebook Messenger or Instagram. Weâll post standings periodically throughout the winter to show who is on top!
RIDE RESPONSIBLY
While enjoying this friendly yet likely chilly competition, please note that we do not recommend anyone ride in snowy or icy conditions and that caution should be exercised while riding in cold conditions in general. Vespa Portland is not liable for any damages or injuries that may result from participating in the Winter Riders Challenge.
Final odometer readings must be given to Vespa Portland by March 19th, 2022 to be counted toward the final mileage totals. Due to the nature of the competition, no grace period after March 19th can be allowed.
No purchase necessary. The competition is open to all modern and vintage scooter riders in the Portland, OR area.
Vespa Portland staff will also be riding in the competition but are not eligible to win.
We were lucky enough to visit warm and tropical Chicago in mid-November to take part in the summit for NIU dealers in North America. Genuine Scooters is the US importer of NIU and there were new products to view (somewhat secret at the time of this video) which have since been announced at EICMA in Milan. Thanks to NIU and Genuine for hosting us, feeding us, and providing entertainment and education.

Simple Green, soapy water, a brush, and a hose will get it done! Leave the Simple Green and soapy water on for 5-10 minutes to let it work into the grime, then brush it down and spray it all off. This particular engine wasn’t in really bad shape but sometimes we get engines in here that look like the forest floor and this trick brings them right back to shining.
SW Fairmount Blvd is an easy ride in the West Hills of Portland that can be enjoyed on pretty much any scooter. Give it a shot when the weather is better but watch out for pedestrians.
